What is your pricing?

Why Cattus?

One word: Experience. We have a core group of players and are thus able to provide a polished, unified group sound borne from having played our repertoire together on countless events. We truly pride ourselves on our sound. Hear the difference in our video samples.

However, playing beautifully is only a part of what we do. The biggest difference between us and a less experienced group is that we are able to expertly navigate the little hiccups and unforeseen circumstances that often occur in even the most well-planned weddings and events to ensure that the musical portion of your event goes off without a hitch!

We are also fully insured ($2,000,000 aggregate) and can provide proof of liability insurance required by your venue.

Do you travel outside of LA?

Sure! To name a few places: Santa Barbara, Palos Verdes, Palm Springs, Orange County. Additional travel fees may apply.

What does Cattus mean?

{kat / toose} means “cat” in Latin, and we chose this name simply because [1] we love cats and animals and [2] we donate to animal organizations!

Can you play at my destination wedding?

We are happy to travel to locations outside of Southern California. Please contact us with details for a full quote.

Should I go with the string quartet or string trio?

Our string trio is comprised of two violins and a cello, and our quartet is formed by adding our violist. We are happy to discuss the details of your event with you and help you pick the perfectly sized ensemble for your event. Factors include your venue, guest count, and ambient noise levels.

How early would you arrive at my venue?

Our rate includes arrival 30-60 minutes before our start time. This gives us plenty of time to set up and review any last minute details with your coordinator.

How soon should I book you?

We are proud to be a “boutique,” musician-owned group. That means, however, that we have limited availability. Therefore, we recommend contacting us as early as possible to ensure availability.

We typically book 6-12 months ahead. However, we are often able to book clients within a shorter time frame.

Can you learn a new song?

Yes. We have a wide selection of songs already in our repertoire (song list). However, if you would like us to learn a new song, we work with several skilled composers/arrangers who create custom arrangements for our group. We pride ourselves not only on our playing but also on the relative complexity of our arrangements of pop, rock, and contemporary songs. Please take a listen to them in our videos.

Can you play outdoors?

Yes! However, we do require full shade from the sun in the form of umbrellas or naturally-occurring shade for the entirety of our contracted playing time.
